ARTIST STATEMENT OR DESCRIPTION OF WORK: I am a multi-media artist! I practice and teach a form of healing movement called Dancemeditation in the hilltowns and in the valley. I also love to sing and write my own song creations of the Earth/Love genre, more like flowing love chants. I also make felted dolls out of natural fiber: great for seasonal altars and children's gifts. I love performing through dance, improvisational theatrical presentations, and music. I am part of band called The Blue Star Sisters. I have always loved making all kinds of art and now enjoy doing it with my daughter. We especially love to paint and play with clay!

ARTIST STATEMENT OR DESCRIPTION OF WORK: Sculptures created from recycled local area parts. This eco-friendly art reflects our local history, recycling and hopes to promote art in public places and remind people of the enrichment of life with art. My art is metaphor. Each piece arises from an intuition that, over the years, I have learned to trust. I am a voracious reader and take long walks each day. I observe, think, and allow everything experienced to coalesce when welding my creations. Rescuing time-worn pieces of metal, once tools or ancient machinery, but now found discarded, is a passion of mine. Animating cold lifeless scraps and instilling a personality or creating an emotional response when viewed by others is a magical process that I am unable to articulate. I am a clumsy magician. Steve spent over 20 years in a commercial printing environment before turning to the roots of printing – letterpress. Karen’s passion for art began before she can remember. ARTIST STATEMENT OR DESCRIPTION OF WORK: Currently, I am painting on wood and metal of different sizes and shapes--found materials--plus some stretched canvas. In one sense, this series of paintings are fairly traditional in representing the landscape of the Hilltowns of today with consideration of their history too. However, due to the wide ranging shapes and sizes of the surfaces I'm painting on, each composition captures only a glimpse of the landscape on its surface. Each one captures only a fragment of the landscape. So, in this sense, they become like abstract paintings, which occasionally become representational to the viewer if they catch a glimpse of something familiar. I also paint dogs, sheep, birds, cows, etc. on mini canvases, which rest on mini easels. (Good size to sit on a desk or window sill, etc.)
